How do I safely store pool chemicals?
In the same sense that using pool chemicals takes a lot of common sense,
storing pool chemicals is a lot of common sense.
- First and foremost, keep all pool chemicals away from children. Children
and pool chemicals just do not mix.
- Your chemicals should be stored in a cool, dry, well ventilated area. A
ventilated cabinet kept in a shaded location is good for this.
- Keep the chemicals locked up. If you keep them in cabinet, make it a
locked cabinet.
- You should not stack the chemical containers on top of one another. If
there were a leak in the upper container, it could possibly result in it
contaminating the lower container and causing a chemical reaction. Also be
sure that the lids are on the containers securely.
- You should always keep your pool and spa chemicals away from other
chemicals. This will lower the risk of cross contamination resulting in
chemical reactions between the chemicals.
